Job Title:    Electrical Engineer           Department:      Electrical Engineering

Location:    Devens, MA                      Reports to:       Electrical Engineering Mgr

FLSA Status:    Exempt


  • Design the Control System Architecture for process applications.
  • Design the control system and create electrical schematics, bills of materials, and other documentation required to support the electrical designs.
  • Test, debug and troubleshoot control systems.
  • Follow engineering quality, standards, methods, policies, and procedures.
  • Some travel (domestic and international) may be required.

Required Experience & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in systems integration/manufacturing.
  • Experience with Control panel design/layout, including schematics
  • Field wiring, including wire/cable selection and conduit sizing
  • Proven history of designing and implementing automation methodologies on multiple projects.
  • Organized and driven to achieve measurable results in a fast paced working environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must have experience writing clear, detailed test plans and status reports.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
  • Must not be restricted from working in an FDA Regulatory Environment.
  • Ability to interpret the functional requirements, P&IDs and design documents to plan, develop, write, and execute test plans and procedures for our clients.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience implementing automation solutions in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Rockwell PLC programming
  • Familiarity with NEC 
  • AutoCAD Electrical

Job Title:   Estimator              Department:  Estimating

Location:    Devens, MA         Reports to:    Estimating Manager

FLSA Status:    Exempt


Responsible for preparing estimates for RFQs.  This includes direct contact with potential clients, subcontractors and vendors.  Prefer related experience in design/build of high purity piping or skid manufacturing in at least one of the following categories: biopharmaceutical equipment, clean industrial equipment, chemical processing, semiconductor or food and beverage.



  • Develop fixed price estimates for both standard platform and custom designed systems.
  • Review Request for Quotations including drawings, specifications and data sheets.  Must be able to read P&IDs.
  • Generate list of Exceptions and Clarifications related to customer provided specifications.
  • Solicit quotations for materials and subcontract services.
  • Prepare detailed estimates using an Excel based estimate engine.
  • Maintain standard pricing in the estimate engine.
  • Prepare documentation for transfer to Project Managers.
  • Interface with project management to establish and maintain estimating standards (manpower and materials) for selected products and unit operations.
  • Generate spare parts lists for process skids.

Required Experience & Knowledge:

  • Associates Degree with 3+ yrs. experience or Bachelor’s Degree with 2 yrs. experience.
  • Familiar with basic operating principles of valves, instruments, pumps and control systems.
  • Familiar with basic fabrication methods such as welding and pipe fitting.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as: User Requirement Specifications, Mechanical Specifications, Vendor quotes and cut sheets, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common engineering documents, such as: schematics, P&IDs, general arrangement and other affiliated drawings and/or documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, clients, and team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Must be able to comply with and work in an FDA Regulatory Environment.
